Our Community Services student, Jennifer, has been chosen as a Study NT International Student Volunteer of the Year finalist!
Jennifer, from Nigeria is an ambassador for the children’s charity, Variety NT, where she has been actively involved in supporting various charity events such as the Triple Zero Ball with NT Legacy, NT Senior Expo, trivia nights and family fun day.
Jennifer was also recently second runner-up in the 2023 Miss World competition. Jennifer’s passion for advocacy led her to be a guest speaker for International Women’s Day 2023, where she passionately advocated for youth mental health.
On Thursday 16 November 2023, Study NT held the 2023 Study NT International Student Awards at Parliament House in Darwin. The event was hosted by the Minister for Jobs, Skills and International Education, the Hon Joel Bowden MLA, and provided an excellent opportunity for the community to come together to celebrate the successes of the Northern Territory’s current international students, alumni and the local businesses that support and mentor them.
Our Darwin campus admin team attended the awards to support Jennifer, along with Jon, one of our Individual Support and Ageing Support students who is also a 2023 Study NT Student Ambassador.
While Jennifer did not take home the International Student Volunteer of the Year Award this year, she did receive a certificate commemorating her Finalist placement.
From all of us at Alana Kaye, we couldn’t be prouder of Jennifer and all of her amazing accomplishments that we’ve seen her achieve during her time with us. We are sure she will continue being a strong presence and positive advocate for her community well into her future!
