TAE Upgrade Course – Bridging the gap from TAE40116 to TAE40122

Course Overview

If you already hold the TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, our TAE Upgrade Program will help you seamlessly upgrade your qualification to the current TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

This targeted program focuses on bridging the gap between the two qualifications, ensuring you gain the new units, updated skills, and current knowledge required under the latest training and assessment standards. You’ll explore the enhanced emphasis on vocational competence, foundation skills, and assessment validation that define the TAE40122, while consolidating the professional capabilities you’ve already developed.

Our experienced trainers will guide you through a practical and streamlined process, allowing you to complete only the units necessary to achieve full equivalence with the TAE40122 qualification. The course is ideal for current trainers and assessors who wish to maintain compliance, strengthen their professional practice, and stay at the forefront of Australia’s VET sector.

Course Breakdown

There are two learning pathways you can take

Pathway 1 – Part Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and Part Training & Assessment Pathway

If you have completed a previous version of the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment with either

TAEDEL301 Provide work skill instruction or
BSBCMM401 Make a presentation/BSBCMM411 Make presentations

as the elective, then you will receive Credit Transfer for one of these plus the elective unit TAEDEL402 Plan, organise and facilitate learning in the workplace.

Then you will complete the Skills Gap Training through the Training and Assessment Pathway. The delivery methods available for Pathway 1 are Self-paced and Blended.

You will need to provide a copy of your Qualification, Statement of Results and/or Statement of Attainment.

Pathway 2 – Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) Pathway

If you have completed a previous version of the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment with either

TAEDEL301 Provide work skill instruction or
BSBCMM401 Make a presentation/BSBCMM401A Make a presentation

you will receive Credit transfer for one of these plus the elective unit TAEDEL402 Plan, organise and facilitate learning in the workplace.

You will need to provide a copy of your Qualification, Statement of Results and/or Statement of Attainment.

In addition, you will need to complete our RPL kit and provide evidence specific for the gap in each unit and the kit identifies exactly what you can provide. In this pathway the cost will be $200 per unit for RPL and $50 per unit for Credit Transfer (Alana Kaye College past TAE Learners pay nothing for credit transfer).
