Learning English takes time and practice, but there are some simple things you can do every day to improve faster. Whether you are just starting or already studying at a school like ours, using English outside the classroom can make a big difference.
Here are 5 tips to help you practise more and remember what you learn.
1. Speak English Every Day
Try to use English in your daily life. Talk to classmates, teachers, shop assistants, or even friends online. Don’t worry about making mistakes. The more you speak, the better you will become. You can even practise by speaking to yourself at home or recording your voice and listening back.
2. Watch, Listen, and Read in English
Watch movies or TV shows with English subtitles, listen to English music or podcasts, and read books, news, or simple stories. This helps you learn how English is really used and improves your listening and reading skills. Choose topics you enjoy so learning feels fun and interesting.
3. Keep a Vocabulary Notebook
Every time you learn a new word or phrase, write it down in a small notebook. Try to use these new words in sentences or in conversation. Review your notebook every week to help your memory. Drawing pictures or using colours can also help you remember words better.
4. Set Small Goals and Reward Yourself
Don’t try to learn everything at once. Set small, clear goals, like learning 10 new words this week, or practising conversation for 10 minutes each day. When you reach a goal, give yourself a small reward. This keeps you motivated and makes learning more enjoyable.
5. Practise With Others
Learning with others can make studying more fun and less stressful. Join a study group, practise with your classmates, or find a language exchange partner. Talking to real people helps you become more confident and improves your speaking and listening fast.
