Hailing from Colombia, Maria came to our Gold Coast campus in 2023, as one of the first General English Full-Time (ELICOS) students. After 12 months of weekly English lessons with us, she has successfully graduated from our ELICOS program with a certificate of completion for our Upper Intermediate Level (B2) English.

After graduating from our English College Maria was kind enough to share some of her thoughts and experiences from her time studying English with us.

“I want to say thank you to all the staff in Alana Kaye College because since I started studying here all people have been interested in my well-being, making me feel comfortable and confident in improving my English skills. Also, they received my suggestions or opinions in a positive way all the time.

I am very grateful because my biggest dream is a reality now. I admit that I am no longer the same person as some months ago because I have improved my English.

I want to say thanks first to Bob because he always believed in me. Julia was another person who was always available to help me, and finally to Jairo was a wonderful teacher, looking for the best strategies to everybody to learn, and enjoy in the most pleasant, memorable, and meaningful way.

Today, I am finishing my first step in my learning process, but I will continue to study and keep going in my professional life and I hope that Alana Kaye College helps me in this.”

Maria has taken the opportunity of putting her newfound mastering of the English Language to use by choosing to continue studying with us, as an international student within our VET sector. She now has the confidence and meets the English language requirements to begin studying and taking the first steps toward her dream of working in Early Childhood Education and Care.

We are very excited to be able to continue supporting Maria through her studies and into her professional career.
