Course Overview
The TAESS00019 Assessor Skill Set is designed for individuals who are required to assess vocational competencies in the workplace or within a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) context. This nationally recognised skill set provides the essential knowledge and practical skills needed to plan, conduct, and review assessment processes in line with the Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) 2025.
Participants will learn how to interpret assessment tools, gather and evaluate evidence, make fair and valid judgements, and provide constructive feedback to learners. The program is ideal for industry experts, workplace trainers, supervisors, or managers who wish to take on the role of an assessor in vocational education and training.
This course meets the assessment requirements for individuals who assess nationally recognised qualifications or units of competency. It can also serve as a stepping stone towards the TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment for those who wish to expand into training delivery as well as assessment.

- TAEASS412 – Assess competence
- TAEASS413 – Participate in assessment validation
- TAEDES411 – Use nationally recognised training products to meet vocational training needs
