Completing a Vocational education and training (VET) qualification can be extremely beneficial to any current or future worker. Enrolling in vocational education courses can help develop new professional skills, improve your current skills or retrain for new employment opportunities. It provides practical learning and gives employees a better hands-on understanding of particular roles and tasks and can have a positive impact on a person’s employment opportunities.
Vocational education courses are not only about a highly sort after practical trade skill, they also have an important role in high-end business professions including, leadership, project management, training and assessment, quality auditing and many other diploma or above VET courses.
A pathway from a vocational qualification to a job is an excellent path forward. You can learn practical skills in a career of your choice. Many of these qualifications involve mandatory work experience which can be invaluable for further growth and can demonstrate to a prospective employer that you have gained both the knowledge and skills to work with them.

University Pathway
Did you know that a Vocational Education and Training (VET) pathway is one of the best ways of getting into University, and quite often a lot cheaper? Many students decide to go to university after completing a VET qualification and many of the universities around Australia will set aside places in most degree courses for VET graduates. Even if you didn’t finish high school (Year 12) your VET qualification may allow you to enter university. At Alana Kaye, we can prepare you for this transition if this is where you want to go. Choosing a VET pathway to university could be a more affordable option as many Diploma programs are relatively cheaper than University courses.
Graduates with a VET qualification and a University degree qualification are highly sought after by employers in many fields. Employers value the practical skills that VET graduates gain from their practical based course in addition to the academic knowledge gained from a University degree course. Alana Kaye will provide you with the practical skills and a good understanding of the theory behind your subject of interest before you enter the University pathway.
You may have been hands on and practical in your field of expertise but never gained a qualification. Alana Kaye staff will be happy to discuss payment plans and pathway options, including Recognition of Prior Learning, to assist with this transition.
